The short version

We collect only what Muse needs to work. We do not sell your information, and Muse has no advertising and no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Muse is run by Follow the Rabbit LLC, 1248 West Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366. Questions, or requests to see or delete your information, go to [email protected].

What we collect

Your email address, to sign you in and send the sign-in link. The name you choose to show. The pieces, replies and audio readings you post.
What you do while reading: which pieces you keep, pass, save, reply to or send on, and the days you read. This is how pieces rise, and how you earn post credits.
If you invite someone, who brought whom. If you buy credits or a membership, a record that you did (the amount and date, not your card number).
For protection against abuse, a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address, which we cannot turn back into the address. If phone verification is turned on, your phone number is turned into a keyed hash and is never stored in readable form. The number is passed to Amazon Web Services only to send you a text and to check that it is a mobile line.
Your browser keeps a sign-in token so you stay signed in, and an invite code if you arrived by an invite link. Readers without an account get a random identifier in the browser, so we can count readers once. Nothing here is shared with advertisers.

How we use it

To run Muse: to show pieces, rank them, count responses, let you write to a writer, and send you the sign-in link, notices and receipts. To keep Muse fair and safe. To send our email, only if you ticked the box at sign-up: weekly discoveries, rising pieces and news from Inkhorn Review. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us.

Who else handles it

We use a few companies to run Muse, and they handle your information only for us: Railway and Cloudflare (hosting and network), Amazon Web Services (email and text messages), Stripe (card payments), RevenueCat (memberships), and Google (our email accounts and inboxes). We may also share information when the law requires it.
Writers are shown to readers only as the Terms describe: not while a piece is being read, and by name when a reader sends it on and on its shared page. If a piece is selected for Inkhorn Review, we share what is needed with the journal’s publisher to make that offer to you.

How long we keep it, and your choices

We keep your account while it is open. You can withdraw any piece yourself. You can ask us to see what we hold about you, or to correct it, or to close your account and delete your information, and we will do so within 30 days, except what we must keep for payment records or the law. Deleting your account removes your pieces from Muse; backups clear within 30 days.
Residents of Washington, California and some other states have specific rights over their information. We honor these requests for everyone who writes to us.

Children, security and changes

Muse is for people 13 and older, and we do not knowingly collect information from younger children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Muse uses encrypted connections, sign-in links that work once and expire in 15 minutes, and hashed phone numbers and internet addresses. No service can promise perfect security.
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, if a change matters, tell you. This policy was last updated October 24, 2026.
